Changing and Rearranging

This past weekend, I needed to change things up a bit. Normally, our kitchen table is set with four place settings that include: a charger, dinner plate, salad plate and cloth napkin. Well, we used our kitchen table to serve our buffet style Sunday dinner so I had to clear off everything. The chargers are too large to fit in the cabinets so I had to get creative and find a home for them. I used this one as a tray on the counter. I liked it so much, it might just have a new home here.

Friday's Favorite

For Christmas my sister and my parents gave me these plates. I have been wanting something like this for awhile. I love my other dishes which you can see and read about here. But, they just don't do for Thanksgiving-this Thanksgiving I actually contemplated, quite seriously, buying new dishes. Plus, my dining room is connected to my living room which is decorated in brown and light turquoise. So, the vibrant colors of my other dishes clash just a bit. Well, now that little dilemma is solved and I couldn't be more excited.
Earlier today I told my hubby I felt kind of lost. I explained that I don't have any occasion for which to decorate. You know we go from Halloween right into Thanksgiving and then comes Christmas. I've had lots to keep me busy since September. He told me to start thinking about Easter. I told him I have been to which he laughed. But seriously, I have been thinking about Easter and thinking about my new dishes. I plan to pair them with some chocolate brown chargers (my sister's idea) and robin's egg blue cloth napkins. Yummy, don't you think? Happy Friday!!!

Friday's Favorite

Nothing says happy more than polka dots. As you might have guessed from the name of my blog, I like polka dots. I don't seek them out, but they do seem to find me. And, they make me happy. For this week's Friday Favorite, I'm showcasing my Mandy Bagwell dishes sporting their adorable polka dots. These are the dishes I registered for when I got married. I absolutely love them! Even when supper turns out to be a disaster, I still have super cute dishes to enjoy! What's espescially fun is mixing and matching all the pieces. I have the dinner plates in lime green, red, yellow, blue and the black/white stripe. So, I can change them out with the seasons or when the mood strikes. Who knew setting a table could be so fun?
